The VII° edition of the MotoGP 2009 is taking place next weekend in Mugello.

The Gran Premio d’Italia represents an important event that is seeing this year a momentary stop in the general outcomes, with 4 pilots competing for victory.
Valentino Rossi, after a series of errors that caused his retire from the Le-Mans circuit, is following his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo together with the Ducati pilot Casey Stoner, 8 scores behind (57) we can find Dani Pedrosa.

For those who have purchased a ticket valid for the entire weekend, there is the possibility to have free access to the pit-lane, to look closely to the box of their idols. Again, the “Ducati pack” that, with a cost of 165 euros, gives access to the correntaio gallery for three days, carachterized by particular choreographies realized by the Desmodromiclub of Rome. Tribune spectators will enjoy the big screen of 33mq and the entrance ticket’s price includes parking for motorbikes and wardrobe for putting your helmets and jackets.

The Mugello race represents a test of truth for the Ducati team, that has to show improvements caused by the Melandri-Hayden change, yet. Hayden has not shown the energy of his motorbike yet. His team is confident about the innovations introduced in Le-Mans, so Hyden in Mugello - one of his favourite circuits - should be able to emphasize his motorbike speed features, developed just in such Tuscan circuit.

So Valentino Rossi challenge his opponents. This experienced, invincible pilot representing an insurmountable obstacle for new recruits, goes beyond his professional skills and makes of this situation a matter or honour. There is no doubt that we can expect this challenge to be really intense.

The Florence leg of Cavendish and Petacchi

The Giro d’Italia 2009 - at its 92° edition and 100° anniversary this year - Florence leg will see a special competition between an English and an Italian cyclist, both actors of this particular edition of the race.

Yes, because presented on last December at the Gran teatro La Fenice in Venice, the arrival, after 21 legs and 3,395 km, will not be in Milan this year - as usual is, starting from 1950 - but in the capital city of Rome. It could be defined as a backlinks race, from North to South and a little bit to the North again, a very hard race for sprinters taking part on it, even without the usual hard obstacle represented by Alps at the end of the path.

The Tuscan leg of the tour will see the crossover of the provinces of Lucca, Massa Carrara, Pisa and Florence. The Lido di Camaiore - Florence leg is characterized by a pretty linear way of 176Km - with just one exception represented by the Montemagno climb, just a little bit more difficult for participants - ending the race in viale Abram Lincoln in Florence, near to the historic cycle track of the Cascine area. Except for potential intrusion of Farrar, Davis and Goos, the protagonists of such leg will be with no doubt the English cyclist Cavendish and the Italian Petacchi.

Departure of the Tuscan leg will be at 1,25 p.m. and the expected arrival at about 5,00 - 5,30 p.m.

A different Egypt presented at Sforza’s Castle in Milan

From today 15^th May, the Trivulziana Library - Hall Weil Weiis of Sforza’s Castle in Milan - will present the exclusive exhibition dedicated to Egypt: “Egitto mai visto” (“Egypt as it’s never been seen before”).

The title itself reminds the exclusive peculiarity of this exhibition. In fact, at the expo, which will take place from May 30th to November 8th at Buonconsiglio Museum of Trento, there will be 800 archaeological findings coming from the Egyptian land, about 100 years after their discovery.

All the finds belong to two extraordinary and inedited collections which are preserved by the Egyptian Museum of Turin and by the Buonconsiglio Castle of Trento.

A stunning and spectacular exhibition will be presented in these days in Milan, a really interesting world preview dedicated to a far dimension, full of mystery and stories to tell and to discover.

“Museums at Night” on Saturday 16th May

“Museums at Night” is a really interesting initiative funded by the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage, which will take place on Saturday 16^th May and will allow a late night opening of all national museums.

Museums at Night is an event expressly created for anyone who doesn’t have the chance to dedicate time to cultural interests and to visit the amazing exhibitions in the Italian museums during the ordinary opening hours. So, as culture belongs to everyone, the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage decided to support this initiative to allow all the people who for reasons relating to work or economy, don’t have the chance to visit the extraordinary heritage hosted by our museums.

In fact, the night of Saturday 16^th May, all the national museums which will support the initiative, will stay open until 2.00 AM for free (entry allowed until 1.00 AM).

Together with the museums’ visits, there will be also a long series of other events, to encourage citizens to take part to this event.

Filmspray gets started in Florence for the first time

On May 7^th, the first edition of an extraordinary movie event will begin in the city of Florence: Filmspray.

Filmspray is not just a simple festival, but it is also an innovative movie review dedicated to the screening of all the movies and shorts which didn’t receive a good visibility because of problems relative to distribution activities.

Filmspray films are very beautiful and interesting, but they weren’t as successful as expected by reason of economic and productive development of cinema world and probably they deserved their popularity.
