Wine Town Firenze 2010: the 1st Intl. Fair dedicated to high-quality Wines

Florence, the heart of Renaissance, is also one of the nine world capitals of wine, and this year it will host the first edition of WineTown Firenze, an international fair of the highest quality wines, which will take place from 30th September to 3rd October 2010.

A great appointment with the best Italian and international wines for enjoying the flavors of traditions, territory, culture and life style that create such a magic potion called “wine”.

The event, promoted by the City of Florence and the Wine Town Committee, with guidance from the Italian Association of Sommeliers (Associazione Italiana Sommelier – AIS), is dedicated to all the wine lovers and it is conceived for spreading its knowledge, history and evolutions. An event that is not just for wine stewards or experts, journalists or connoisseurs, but also for curious people who wish to learn more about the Italian art of wine production. An event open to everyone!

Visitors will have the chance to taste some of the best wines in the ancient palaces and cloisters located in the historical center, and in the evening they will enjoy the company of many musical events and theater performances…a wonderful mix among art, culture and traditions.

Piazza Pitti will host an international area, that is, a space dedicated to the other eight world capitals of wine: Bilbao-Rioja, Bordeaux, Cape Town, Mainz, Mendoza, Porto, San Francisco-Napa Valley, Christchurch-South Island, and their wines and traditions.

In addition, there will be 10 different paths for talking about the role of wine in architecture, art, archaeology, marketing, agronomy, ecosystems, communication, innovation. Exhibitions, meetings and events for everybody, even for children.
