Genoa presents the 50th International Boat Show

From 2nd to 10th October 2010, the internationally renowned Boat Show will come back in the city of Genoa (Liguria Region), with its 50th edition.

The city is getting ready for welcoming visitors in style, with many events and surprises scheduled.

The most important events of the programme 2010 are the following:

- on Sunday 3rd October, the evening will be dedicated to the exhibitors and guests of the event, with a concert of the Italian singer Gino Paoli which will take place on the terrace of the pavilion B placed in the waterfront and designed by Jean Nouvel.

- Genoa will also be present at the celebrations on the occasion of the Columbus Day in New York with many initiatives, among which we find a 30-minutes video about Genoa and some great international appointments, such as the International Boat Show and Euroflora, which will go on the air on NBC.

- the “Progetto accoglienza”: the “welcoming project” coneived for visitors which will offer 13 shuttle buses for linking railway stations, parking areas and the main hotels of the city to the International Fair, 2 shopping buses to the center, 5 information points in the most prestigious Genoa hotels and an Information Point at the Boat Show for having useful tourist information and tips about the city.

The International Boat Show 2010 is distinguished from the others by its innovation and wide range of products; the Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday October 2nd at 9.30 a.m.

Also this year great numbers are expected at the Boat Show: 1,400 exhibitors and 2,300 crafts, 60% of which will be below 10 meters in length. Over 36% of exhibitors will come from abroad, exactly from 39 different countries.

Among the stars of the Boat Show we find Perini Fivea, a 45-metres-long sloop from Viareggio’s shipyard: a classical piece of high technology and elegance.

To its more-than-aware public and to professional operators, Genoa International Boat Show will offer TechTrade, the section devoted to components and accessories for pleasure boating. Monday, 5 and Tuesday, 6 will be the b2b preferential days.

In addition, on the occasion of the Show’s fiftieth edition, Sagep is publishing a volume tracing back the Boat Show’s history from 1962 to date, with the contributions of journalists and representatives of the boating world.
