The 10th edition of Circumnavigando Festival is coming to Genoa, in the Region of Liguria. We are talking about an International Theater and Circus Festival taking place every year in the Ligurian city placed by the sea.
Circumnavigando Festival is an event organized by Associazione Culturale Sarabanda and supported by Regione Liguria, Provincia and Comune di Genova and Porto Antico S.p.a.
The festival, which is usually dedicated to the folk theater, this year will show itself differently, with two events: Street Theatre, from 17th to 19th December, where several acrobats, jugglers and well-experienced actors will perform in the historical center of Genoa, and a circus performance called CirqueSolò from 26th to 31st December at Teatro Tenda at Porto Antico (Old Harbor of Genoa).
That’s an amusing mix between the traditional and contemporary circus, which will lead the audience to the celebrations for New Year’s Eve 2011.
Besides the performances scheduled, Circumnavigando will direct its attention to the ones who wish to begin a career in such activities and many theater workshops will be organized and placed in the different districts of the city.
Circumnavigando is a festival focusing on the search of unusual ways for expressing ideas: each artist, by using different techniques, chooses his own “language” that becomes the starting point for his dramaturgy and his communication channel for telling his stories.
Different, original appointments are waiting for you in Genoa, from 17th to 19th December in the historical center of the city and from 26th to 31st December at the Old Harbor.
A perfect occasion for visiting Genoa in Christmas time!
