Sanremo, Ariston’s lights get ready to shine: 61st Italian Song Festival

Preparatives for the next edition of Sanremo Festival dedicated to Italian songs are already twitching for months.

The much-talked-about hosts’ cast will be leaded by the singer Gianni Morandi (one of the most famous voices in Italy since 1964) joined by Elisabetta Canalis, and Belen Rodriguez with special appearance by Luca Bizzarri and Paolo Kessisoglu, the TV comic team coming from “Le Iene” (one of the most followed programs in Italy).

Many guests will alternate on Teatro Ariston stage in Sanremo and most of them will be last-minute announced.

This edition will take place in five consecutive nights, from February, 15th to 19th, when, by audience vote and “Sanremo Festival Orchestra” judges evaluation, the greater 10 artists will be selected to perform in the final night and prizes for best lyric, best artist and critics prize will be assigned.

The outline counts for the First night a first selection of songs in competition by Ariston opinion poll and the presentation of the 8 young artists competing in Giovani division (Junior division); the Second night a further poll will select 10 songs in Artisti (Artists) division to be admitted at the Fourth night and 2 of Giovani one.

The Third night will be entirely dedicated to 150th year of Italy Unification and it will be entitled “Nata per unire” (Born to blend): the 14 Artisti in competition will perform 14 Italian historian hits and the audience poll will choose the most evocative one. In addition, the remaining 4 Giovani will perform and 2 of them will go home.

The Fourth night will see the election of the winner for Giovani division, while will be in the Final night that the winner for Artisti division will be elected.

If you cannot participate in person at the show but however you want to visit Ariston Theatre, hosting the Festival since 1977, it is possible to exploit guided tours offered by the Theatre itself buying a ticket, all-days, except on holidays, from 10:00.

Booking required 24 hours at least before the visit by phone. The visit lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. For groups, you can choose between 4 different guided tours: depending on the one you opt for, in addition to Ariston Museum visit, you could have a drink, enjoy a film in one of the six screens of the Theatre or visit the “Tempio della Canzone Italiana” (Italian Song Temple) in Vallecrosia.

So, a city that inevitably draw music and entertainment lovers, a city that every year is in whole Europe spotlights, a city that every year doesn’t misfire the date overflowing Ariston with lights, melodies and flower cascades.
