A double-faced Milan: Tattoo Convention and Milan Women Fashion Week

In February, Milan turns into an international pole of attraction hosting once again two long-expected events that will surely fill up the city with famous faces and visitors from all over the world.

The Milan Tattoo Convention gathers every year hundreds of body artists coming from every continent for three days of events, meetings and interchanges involving all participants. For followers, professionals and novices it represents a unique occasion to glance at the worldwide view of body art, piercing and tattoo, and to attend several shows scheduled for the event.

The elected base is confirmed to be the Quark Hotel, due steps away from Milan old town center: the rooms chosen for the event are the Qasar and the Acquarium one, switching each other in hosting various dates.

The Convention opening is planned on Friday, February, 11th, from 2 p.m., with body painting performances, dances by Les Sœurs Tribales and fighting sports demonstrations  involving Ludus Magnum gym. Exhibitions will go on even the next day on which the Miss Pin Up Tattoo 2011 will take place, choosing the girl the most representative of Pin Ups style, together with the Best of Day Tattoo Contest.

For the conclusive day, the Convention reserve a conference about Japanese tattoo, live performances and the Tattoo Competition at 17 o’ clock in Acquarium room. Within this event there will be placed even two displays, “Flash of Italy”, presenting the tattoo tradition in Italy by exposing many illustrations of the main Italian tattoo artists’ works , and “The Visionary”, a black’ n’ white photo collection by Edgard Hoill, Osok as art name, about tattoo culture above America and Japan.

Quite a different atmosphere for Milan Women Fashion Week, taking place from February, 23rd to March,1st in Fashion Hub mounted in Palazzo Giureconsulti, by the direction of Camera della Moda Italiana. The fashion week will be dedicated to Winter/Fall pret-à-porter collection 2011/12 and will host on runways new year seasonal trends and wearing apparels.

As it happens for the previous review on Summer/Spring 2011, Milan will give hospitality to more than 250 stylists, as well as 15000 among Italian and international journalists and buyers. An indefeasible date for fashion addicted and for the ones that want always to abreast on new trends and to be a step forward the crowd.

Remaining in Milan, but switching city zone, from February, 25th to 28th in Fieramilanocity, in the 3rd Pavillion, the 4th edition of Mi Milano Pret-à-Porter will go on stage, a whole-Italian selection of clothing and accessories dedicated to W/F 2011/12.

The entrance will be reserved to fashion addicts, customers and journalists and it’s possible to effectuate a pre-registration online on official web site of the event.

Therefore, a city drawing once again world’s spotlights: Milan is ready to go and doesn’t step aside.
