Summer in Tuscany will wonder you: MotoGP 2011, Live Concerts & Much More

The countdown for the most expected events in Tuscany has just begun: from 1st to 24th July in Lucca will be held the Lucca Summer Festival 2011, a series of live concerts introducing famous international and Italian musicians and singers.

Actually the opening of such an event had to begin with the American band Blink 182 but they cancelled their world tour for lack of new material and postponed it to next year. By the way, we will not miss them because there will be such international artists like Elton John, Ben Harper, Arcade Fire, B.B. King, Joe Cocker and many other great names.

Unfortunately, also the date scheduled for Amy Winehouse has been cancelled due to her health conditions: during her concert in Belgrade, she was totally drunk and was staggering on the stage, so after this flop, her manager broke the news to the press. By the way, on July, 16th maybe she could be replaced by – hear ye – Prince: a great artist, a worthy substitute. But the news is not yet official and the organizers are waiting for a definitive answer of the artist.

Anyway, the 14th edition of Lucca Summer Festival will present a wide range of high-level artists, here are some names: Elton John, Jamiroquai, Joe Cocker, Liza Minelli, the couple Burt Bacharach/Mario Biondi, The Arcade Fire, Ben Harper and many others.

Here are the dates:

1st July FRANCESCO GUCCINI
5th July B. BACHARACH/M.BIONDI
8th July ZUCCHERO
9th July ARCADE FIRE
14th July ELTON JOHN & his Band
15th July B.B. KING + JOE COCKER
18th July BEN HARPER
19th July LIZA MINELLI
21th July JAMES BLUNT
23th July ENRICO BRIGNANO
24th July JAMIROQUAI

You can’t miss such an event rich in music and fun in Lucca!

Still talking about special events in Tuscany, at Mugello Italians are doing the countdown for MotoGP, Italian Gran Premio, which will take place from 1st to 3rd July 2011 at the Mugello Circuit. Everything is ready and Italy is waiting for rumbling engines.

Despite a very high request for tickets, the Mugello Circuit decided to encourage a larger participation with a series of sales for whoever bought presale tickets for the race. If you haven’t booked a hotel yet, don’t waste your time and search for an accommodation in Mugello

The total length of the track is 5245 m., divided almost equally between straights and curves. The curves take up 48,5% of the total length of the track: there are 15 turns, 9 to the right and 6 to the left. The width of the track varies between 9,6 and 14 meters. The longest straight is in front of the pits and is 1141 meters long. The circuit is situated at 292 meters above sea level and has a total variance in altitude of 41,19 meters.

Last year Dani Pedrosa won the Gran Premio 2010 with his Honda, whereas the great Valentino Rossi reached 1st position from 2002 to 2008 firstly with Honda and then with Yamaha. Who will be the winner of this edition? The “doctor” this year is riding Ducati…we shall see…!

Mugello is waiting for you!
