Count Down for 3rd edition of Filmcaravan has just begun – the International Travelling Shorts Fest

From Wednesday 3rd to Saturday 6th August 2011, the most expected summer event in Imperia will come back: Filmcaravan, the International Travelling Shorts Fest.

After the official presentation of Filmcaravan in Montecarlo on the observation platform of NI BOX, the event will begin as usual during the first week of August in the striking Piazza dei Corallini in Cervo (province of Imperia, Liguria Region).

The festival will start on 3rd August at 9.30 p.m. with the out-of-competition documentary film entitled Kawalek Lata, created by the Polish director Marta Minorowicz who won the great prize of the jury in the last edition of the Clermont-Ferrand festival. The evening will continue with other 6 short films belonging to the international competition.

On Thursday 4th, the caravan will move to the town of Diano Castello and the 3rd evening of the event will take place on Friday 5th August in Cipressa. The ending evening of the event will be on Saturday 6th August, just like in the last editions, will take place in the park of Villa Grock in Imperia, where there will be the prize-giving of the festival from 7.30 p.m.

On Sunday 7th August, there will be the screening of all the movies awarded at Teatro Lo Spazio Vuoto in Imperia – Galleria degli Orti.

Finally, Filmcaravan 2011 will end with a cine-concert – Haxan Remix – a series of fragments (lasting about 40 minutes) selected by Haxan: the witchcraft over the centuries, a classic of silent cinema created in 1922 by the Danish director Benjamin Christensen, between documentary and dramatic reconstruction. Haxan is an observation and thought on how superstition, ignorance and incomprehension of physical and psychological diseases led to the witch-hunt hysteria.

In addition, for the most curious cinema addicts, on Saturday 6th at 11 a.m. there will also be a meeting with the directors, who are present at the festival, on the terrace of the bar “I Sognatori” at the outfall of Porto Maurizio.

What are you waiting for? Come and visit the Italian Riviera (the famous and beautiful beaches of Liguria): in Imperia and the surrounding area you will find charming towns, beautiful shores, crystal-blue sea and much fun with cinema and Filmcaravan 2011!

See you in Liguria! :-)
