The 6th edition of the International Rome Film Festival will be held in Rome from October, 27th to November, 4th 2011, at Auditorium Parco della Musica, the spectacular arts complex designed by the world-famous architect Renzo Piano.
The festival will be occupying the five theatres of the complex: Santa Cecilia, Sinopoli, Petrassi, Teatro Studio and Studio 3, which will be reserved for screenings and encounters, whereas the Foyer, Auditorium Arte, Spazio Risonanze and the Museo Archeologico will host an array of other events.
During the Festival, the 1,300-sqm walkway will host not only international celebrities, but also for visitors and spectators, the real protagonists of the event.
Besides the Auditorium, there will also be the Cinema Village, a 6,000-sqm complex built for the occasion, with temporary screening facilities and steel-and-glass pavilions welcoming festivalgoers.
The Village offers info points, ticket offices and a large Food area (hosting a cafeteria, refreshment areas, pizzerias, and restaurants) as well as shops and themed areas dedicated to the Festival’s supporters.
As every year, once again the magical atmosphere of the festival will spread over the whole city thanks to a multitude of initiatives and events dedicated to the cinema.
The film The Adventures of Tintin: the Secret of the Unicorn (3D), which features Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson working side by side, as director and producer respectively, will be seen at the next International Rome Film Festival.
Another curious thing about the festival: directors Terence Davies and David Hare, musician Michael Nyman and writer Hanif Kureishi will be headlining the Focus section which this year the International Rome Film Festival (27 October – 4 November 2011) has dedicated to Great Britain.
In addition, just like in the previous editions, “Twilight” fans will not be disappointed. The “Alice nella città” section will host a major event having to do with books and cinema for the theatrical release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I. The audience will get the chance to meet some of the film’s main actors – including two members of the Cullen family, the vampires Rosalie and Jasper Hale (played by Nikki Reid and Jackson Rathbone).
Well, what are you waiting for? Tickets for 6th edition of International Rome Film Festival are available from 14th October 2011 at the box office of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in viale P. De Coubertin (Rome), all the special ticket offices and policy shops.
Rome waits for you from October, 27th to November, 4th 2011 with the 6th edition of International Rome Film Festival.
