From 28th October to 1st November 2011, the Lucca Comics & Games 2011 will be held in the Tuscan city of Lucca, the international fair of comics.
This year the edition will welcome guests like David Llyoid, Manuele Fior, Davide Reviati and the Japanese Jiro Taniguchi.
Scott Farrar wil be the special guest of this edition, one of the greatest artist and special effects maker (in his career he took part in 40 Holliwood films, from Starwars to Transformers).
After the great success of Cocoon (Academy Awards in 1985), Farrar becomes a benchmark for Holliwood industry with Industrial Light and Magic by creating special effects of movies such as di Man in Black, Jurassic Park, Deep Impact and Minority Report, and later he turned to the new medias like videogames.
Here are the appointments scheduled with the artist:
- Friday 28th at 4.30 pm at Palazzo Orsetti, Sala di Rappresentanza: “How to become a Wizard”, the real story of an ILM Visual Effect Supervisor.
- Friday 28th at 9 pm at Auditorium San Girolamo: screening of the successful saga Transformers 3, introduced by Scott Farrar
- Saturday 29th at 12.30 pm, Masterclass in Sala Ingellis (Lucca Games): preview of special contents of the BlueRay edition and description by the artist.
For the edition 2011, Lucca Games will propose again and enlarge the section dedicated to training: Lucca Games Educational. So, a wider range of training seminaries: creation of Board and role-playing games, drawing and illustration, writing and fantastic, horror and fanta-scientific narrative. Among the teachers, this year we find Herbie Brennan, Wayne Reynolds and Sandy Petersen.
The 2011 edition will be dedicated to the theme of adventure, its protagonists, masters and several forms of expression. Among these, narrative, art, traditional games and, obviously, videogames, which once again come back thanks to the great figures of the industry: 2K, Ankama, Gameloft, Electronics Arts, Koch Media, Nintendo, Ubisoft e Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.
Several titles on preview: 2K with The Darkness II, the new, obscure adventure of Jackie Estacado, the protagonist born from the pages of the famous, horror comics series published by Top Cow.
Ankama will present the Italian version of WAKFU, the new, tactic, in turns MMORPG set 1 thousand years after DOFUS, the online role-playing game that enchanted over 40 millions players all around the world.
Nintendo, on the occasion of 25th anniversary of Zelda, will present the preview of the new
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with a series of events dedicate dto the world of Zelda. There will also be the preview “Super Mario 3DLand” and “Mario Kart 7” for Nintendo 3DS and “Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games” for Wii.
So guys, many initiatives, events and areas for having fun and entertainment with the world of comics, mangas and videogames.
