A new edition of BTO – Buy Tourism Online is being held in Florence on December, 1st and 2nd, at the Stazione Leopolda (a former railway station today housing cultural, artistic and trade events).
Such a digital event, dedicated to the dimension of tourism, is a perfect occasion for knowing and deepening the main issues of the Travel Online.
On the Main Stage many debates, meetings, keynotes and interviews are scheduled for discovering, broadening one’s knowledge and connecting to the themes and protagonists of the Online Travel Market.
BTO will focus mostly on themes connected to the TRAVEL 2.0. It will be an instructive, training and trade event for tourism trade operators and technology big players that are changing the sector, but also an occasion for encouraging the entrepreneurial initiative and creativity thanks to the sharing of new ideas through the web.
The event is dedicated to the governing bodies and institutions responsible for local tourism, tourism-service and marketing operators interested in improving their skills, representatives of public interests and also students, researchers and bloggers keen on new technologies.
The last edition of Buy Tourism Online has a full house, hosting over 4,000 visitors, 44 brand representatives from all over the world such as Google, TripAdvisor, HolidayCheck, Trivago, HRS, Venere, Best Western, Expedia and many more, and it was the most watched live stream show in the world.
Many surprises are ready for the 2011 edition: the opening presentation with the Report about Italian Travel 2011 by PhoCusWright, for taking stock of the situation on the online tourism market in Italy.
Among the 11 themes of Buy Tourism Online, besides the ones linked to tourism, we find the Social Commerce and the arrival of Deals (such as Groupon) that has changed and revolutionized the concept of “special offers”.
Under the spotlight, we will also find the arrival of new technologies for mobiles, new business opportunities offered by countries such as Brazil, Russia, India and China for trying to understand the needs of these new tourists, starting from their way to use the Web and finally a series of conferences about the opportunities offered by the online world for those working in the Sector Marketing and Sustainable Tourism.
