Carrara Marmotec 2012: marble, technologies and design

The appointment with Carrara Marmotec 2012, currently in its 31st edition, comes back from Wednesday 23rd to Saturday 26th May in the historical centre of Carrara.

Carrara Marmotec is the International Fair of marble, technologies and design linked to the stone sector that takes place in the city of Carrara, marble capital.

One of the most important goals of the fair is the spread of the stone value and the support for the use of up-to-date technologies and new processing techniques of stone, capable of giving new features and many other applications to marble.

The event will offer a wide range of stone products and will take part in foreign delegations, planners and designers coming from all over the world, but working with Italian marble. They will show many news about the technology sector.

Marmotec is not only a complete exhibition of marbles, granites and machines, but also an event that combines business with culture and design, involving the city of Carrara and the entire marble area of Apuane and Versilia.

In addition, there will be a rich programme of workshops and conferences for the technical training of operators and architects from all over the world.

Besides Marmotec, there will also be Carrara Marble Weeks, an exhibition that will take place in Carrara historical centre with a series of appointments aimed at spreading marble culture and stone materials.

Moreover, the marble fair offers the opportunity to visit the marble caves of the city together with a geologist expert.

At Marmotec, an award has been established: the Marble Architectural Award, an international acknowledgement that every year is awarded to planners and providers of stones and marbles of Italian origin.

Opening hours are: from Wednesday 23rd to Friday 25th from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday 26th from 10 am to 5 pm.

In conclusion, Marmotec is the benchmark of the stone sector, a place of meeting for marble operators, but also an exclusive moment from a professional point of view.
