With its Spring-Summer collection (more than 1,000 prestigious brands) Pitti Uomo will show the men’s fashion trends for 2013 to the world.
Many fashion designers will take participate and show their new creations and, among the others, the eco-fashion brand Edun created by Ali Hewson (Bono Vox’s wife), the preview of James Scott, the collection by Timothy Everest “Hancock” and Guillame Henry‘s one. The event will end with a catwalk presented by the fashion house Valentino in the evening of 22nd.
This year’s theme is food! Wonderfood Pitti will be the protagonist of Fortezza da Basso external spaces, with the Oliviero Baldini project: some incredible vegetable gardens supervised by 35 scarecrows-mannequins dressed with clothes chosen from a selection of international brands of Pitti Uomo.
In addition, the dining spaces will be organized according to a comfortable food style, designed to convey to all visitors a feeling of well being.
A series of events and presentations will accompany the exhibition, some of them in full synergy with the Florence area, such as Stefano Ricci’s fashion show at the Uffizi Gallery (evening of June 18th), when he will celebrate his 40th anniversary of work and receive the Pitti Immagine Uomo 82 Award; there will also be the Memo Show presentation, a project of Fashion Films set in some the most important Florence’s Museums.
Such museums will be open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (19th, 20th, 21st June) from 7 pm to midnight. Free admission. The event is supported by Mondadori Pubblicità in collaboration with Pitti Immagine Uomo 82 and the City of Florence.
