The Puccini Festival was born in 1930 as a personal wish of the Maestro Giacomo Puccini.
Even if once in a lifetime, he would have listened one of his operas resound on the shores of the lake where he composed them.
Six years after his dead, for the first time his friends put on stage “La Bohème“.
The festival has become a more and more famous event gathering thousands spectators from all over the world.
It attracts opera lovers and tourists who wish to visit the places where the most beloved composer of 20th century lived.
You can also visit Torre del Lago, which is a small town between Lake Massaciuccoli and the sea.
Puccini called this area a real “paradise” and he was right because the lake is very peaceful and it’s a perfect location for a relaxing holiday.
