2012 Zeroemission Rome: Renewable Energies for the Mediterranean

In Rome, everything is ready for hosting the new edition of Zeroemission Rome.

From 5th to 7th September, the eternal city will host at Rome Fair Centre this great event dedicated to renewable energies, environmental sustainability and the fight against climate changes and emission trading…issues that are becoming more and more important and close to all of us.

Venice Historical Regatta on 2nd September 2012

For all Venetians and foreign visitors, on Sunday 2nd September will take place the famous Venice Historical Regatta.

It is the main event in the yearly “Voga alla Veneta” rowing calendar. This unique sport has been practiced in the Venetian lagoon for thousands of years and today it is well-known for the spectacular historical water parade preceding the race.

Many 16th century-style boats with gondoliers in period costume carry the Doge, the Doge’s wife and all the Venetian officials along the Grand Canal

9th Festival della Mente in Sarzana: a homage to Creativity and Culture

From 31st August to 2nd September, the charming town of Sarzana (Liguria Region) will celebrate its 9th Festival della Mente: the first European event totally devoted to creativity, directed by Giulio Cogoli and promoted by the Foundation Carispe and the City of Sarzana.

The festival includes about 90 events and activities conceived for adults and children with Italian and foreign philosophers, scientists, writers, artists, musicians, psychoanalysts, historians, actors and directors who started original thoughts and discussions about nature and creativity, some of the most popular features of human skills.

The meetings will take place in the symbolic places of the town, as the “Citadella” (Firmafede Fortress), the Cloister of San Francesco, Matteotti Square

Septemberfest 2012, a toast between Ingolstadt and Carrara

From 25th August to 8th September, Septemberfest will come back in the town of Marina di Carrara!

The Septemberfest, founded in 1976, as an evidence of the twinning between Ingolstadt and Carrara, has become one of the largest and most important beer festivals, in a real German style, which every year takes place out of German borders and gathers more than 120 thousands visitors.

Its success is due to the originality of its products: bavarian typical beer, German folk music, entertainment and typical cuisine.

The famous “tree of May”, typical of Bavaria, dominates the square of Carrara.

Summer in Montepulciano. The Traditional Event “Bravio delle Botti”

On Sunday August, 26th, the traditional event “Bravio delle Botti” will take place in the beautiful, old town of Montepulciano (Tuscany).

It is a challenge among the eight district of Montepulciano: Cagnano, Collazzi, Coste, Gracciano, Poggiolo, San Donato, Talosa and Voltaia.

They compete for a painted cloth and have to roll barrels 80 kilos weigh along a 1,800 m long path leading uphill.

The word “Bravio” derives from the vulgar “Bravium” and is just the painted cloth on which the iconographic image of the patron Saint of Montepulciano – St. Giovanni Decollato – is drawn.
