52nd International Furniture Exhibition in Milan

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile of Milan will be held from 9th to 14th April 2013 (open to the public on 13th and 14th only) and will take place at the exhibition center of Rho.

The Salone del Mobile of Milan is a reference point for the furniture industry all over the world. It was born in 1961 with the aim to show the whole world the excellence and quality of Italian furniture and promote its export abroad; in 1967 it became an internationally renowned event thanks to the participation of many foreign suppliers: since then, it has been an event without parallel in the furnishing sector.

After many years, the Chamber of Commerce of Thessaloniki organized the participation to the event of Greek companies in the north of Greece.

The 2012 edition boasted the presence of 292,370 visitors, 188.579 of which were from abroad and 39,279 of the Sunday public.

This year, for the first time, visitors will buy a single ticket valid for metro, surface transports and entrance to the fair. Furthermore, in the week of the Salone del Mobile, the entrance to the city’s museums will be completely free.

The opening hours of the fair is from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm (trade only); it will be open to the public only on 13th and 14th April.

Outside the Salone it will be open for the entire duration of the fair from 10 am to 9 pm.

On 10th April from 6.30 pm to 10 pm there will be a special event: the presentation of a chair designed in 1951 by an Italian-Brazilian architect.
