2013 edition of Milan Film Festival, 5th – 15th September

Since last September, 5th Milan Film Festival has come back to the city of Milan and this year this great and much-expected event has its 18th birthday and will entertain Milan nights until Sunday 15th September.

Every year in September, such a great event brings the best of the international cinema in Milan: full-length films, short films, documentaries, animations, live music performances, events, workshops and a very rich nightlife in Milan!

This young, independent and unconventional festival has a lot of side events such as dj sets, live events and performances, and has become an irrevocable event and you can’t miss it if you love nightlife or cinema!

The full-length films competition is open to works by directors coming from all over the world: this year, in the competition 8 directors out of 11 are women.

The other sections of the festival are the following:

- VerniXage: the intersection between cinema and contemporary art.
- The Outsiders: a selection of world-beaters: previews, unpublished works, invisible films.
- State (T)Error: documentaries that reveal the political power structures around the world. Meeting and workshops with the directors.
- Focus on Animation: a section dedicated to the world of animation.
- Echoes of silence / Rage of immanence – Tribute to Sylvain George: Milano Film Festival dedicates a focus to Sylvain George, filmmaker and political activist.
- Salon des refusés: gems from unselected movies presented by their directors.
- Milano film festivalino: a parallel festival for children: screenings, workshops, performances.

In addition, many other events are scheduled, such as live music, dj sets, meetings and workshops open to everyone.

The venues of the festival are: Strehler Theatre (the main stage where you’ll see the screenings of the competition), Teatro Studio, Parco Sempione, the Auditorium San Fedele, the Teatro dell’Arte at Triennale, Spazio Oberdan, Cascina Cuccagna, lthe former Bazzi (far from the city centre).
