53rd Genoa International Boat Show

From October 2nd to 6th 2013, the International Boat Show comes back in Genoa with several meetings, itineraries and initiatives for adults and children.

The Boat Show has a brand new layout made up a 180,000-sqm exhibition area, 100,000 of which are on water, 6 different exposition areas, all kinds of boats on display (from powerboats to sailing boats, from tender boats to maxi yatchs) from 1,85 to 80 m long boats.

750 exhibitors, 1,000 boats on display, 100 of which are brand new, conferences and cultural and funny initiatives in the city for the most important and complete exhibition of the sector at international level.

Visitors will find many coloured, soft, large pillows at their disposal for having relax and enjoying the atmosphere of the event. In addition, you’ll find also many benches made up of 6,000 recycled plastic bottles, another relax area with benches and Ligurian aromatic plants, and the “Promenade”, the lifted up walkway flanking the boats on display which is similar to a tree-lined avenue where the trees are sails.

“Navigar m’è dolce” comes back at the Boat Show, a project created by UCINA for developing the culture of the sea and spreading the navigation among everyone. Over 800 students are expected to take part in this initiative.

Wednesday October 2nd (pm):

- Boat trips
- Workshop: “sailing knots”
- 5-step beginners’ course in sailing culture with “Apprentice Seaman” certificate on completion.
- Workshop: “My Yacht” by the no-profit association Il Porto dei piccolo.

Thursday October 3rd

- 11.00am-Noon: “Safety at sea” by the Genoa Coast Guard
- Noon-2.00pm: Workshop “I’ll save you Daddy” by the Italian Life Saving Society

FERRY SERVICE
From 2nd to 6th October, it will be possible to reach the Boat Show area by ferry from the old harbor of Genoa. Here is the timetable of departures:
