2012 edition of “Lucca Comics & Games” is ready to begin

The long-awaited Lucca Comics&Games is back: one of the main events dedicated to comics, animation, games, videogames, fantasy and sci-fi!

The festival will start on November, 1st and end on 4th; the exhibitions have been open from October 20th until the end of the festival.

For the 25th time, there will also be the Original Game Contest: the announcement is online for all the games creators.

The International Film Festival is back in Rome, from November 9th-17th

The festival will be held at the well-known Auditorium Parco della Musica, but its atmosphere will spread through the whole city, with different activities dedicated to cinema set up in several historical areas.

This year’s programme includes about 60 world premieres, giving a special attention to the new trends of contemporary cinema, and several projections, meetings and debates on Italian cinema.

The new regulation provides an Official Selection through an international contest, besides some non-competing films.

69th Venice International Film Festival

The 69th Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held in Venice Lido from August 29th to September 8th, 2012, directed by Alberto Barbera.

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and spread the international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. In addition, the Festival includes retrospectives to pay homage to the greatest figures of cinema as a contribution towards raising awareness of the history of cinema.

9th Festival della Mente in Sarzana: a homage to Creativity and Culture

From 31st August to 2nd September, the charming town of Sarzana (Liguria Region) will celebrate its 9th Festival della Mente: the first European event totally devoted to creativity, directed by Giulio Cogoli and promoted by the Foundation Carispe and the City of Sarzana.

The festival includes about 90 events and activities conceived for adults and children with Italian and foreign philosophers, scientists, writers, artists, musicians, psychoanalysts, historians, actors and directors who started original thoughts and discussions about nature and creativity, some of the most popular features of human skills.

The meetings will take place in the symbolic places of the town, as the “Citadella” (Firmafede Fortress), the Cloister of San Francesco, Matteotti Square
