Imperia, the 7^th edition of Video Festival Imperia (International Festival of    Cinematographic    Digital Art) is going to start from 24^th to 28^th April 2012. Each year it  becomes more and more  a centre of national and international attraction for professionals  from all over the world: the  number of participants increases, there are nearly 700 works from  51 countries. This testifies  how much the festival is growing thanks to the richness and the  variety of performances.

 With every passing year, the importance of Imperia and its festival has continued to grow: for  three consecutive years UNESCO has mentioned Imperia festival as one of the 13 most  important festivals in the world for “Diffusion and preservation of cultural diversity”.

“Torino Comics” – Comics, games and cosplays – is coming back to Turin at Pavilion 3 of Lingotto Fiere with a programme full of events, meetings with special guests, initiatives and games open to everyone. Special guest of this edition will be Terry Moore, the author of the series Strangers in Paradise, Echo and Rachel Rising.

Other important Italian authors who will be present this year are: Paolo Barbieri, Gabriele dell’Otto, Bepi Vigna,

“Danza in Fiera”, the greatest European event dedicated to dance, is ready to come back in Florence from 23rd to 26th February 2012.

Four days in which Fortezza da Basso will host several events and live performances belonging to the whole world of dance: classic, contemporary, modern, Latin-American, ethnic dance, tango, hip hop, musicals, waltz, burlesque and also pilates, a perfect sport for training to dance.

From 14th to 18th February 2012, the popular Sanremo Festival comes back on Italian TV screens.

This is the 62nd Festival of Italian Song and the show will be hosted by the Italian singer Gianni Morandi, the actor Rocco Papaleo and Ivana Mrazova, together with two comedians Luca and Paolo.

The festival schedules:

- a competition among 14 artists with new songs;

- a competition where the 14 artists, together with international guest singers, will sing famous Italian songs known all over the world in different international versions, during the night called “Viva l’Italia!”;

- the final stage of the competition “Sanremosocial” among 8 young artists presenting their original songs.

The artists in competitions are Arisa, Chiara Civello, Dolcenera, Emma Marrone, Nina Zilli, Eugenio Finardi, Francesco Renga, Gigi D’Alessio and Loredana Berté, Irene Fornaciari, Marlene Kuntz, Matia Bazar, Noemi, Pierdavide Carone and Lucio Dalla, Samuele Bersani.

As for the special guests of this edition, on 2nd night there will be Belen Rodriguez and Elisabetta Canalis, and the two comedians Francesco Mandelli and Fabrizio Biggio.

On 3rd night, entitled “Viva l’italia nel mondo” the festival will host the great swimming champion Federica Pellegrini.

The fourth night will host the dancer Simona Azzorri who will perform a dance on the notes of the English-German violinist David Garret and the choreography by Daniel Arzelow. In addition, Sabrina Ferrilli and Alessando Siani.

On the final night, there will also be the Canadian band The Cranberries with the amazing voice of Dolores O’Riordan.

Carnival 2012 is ready to begin. Tomorrow 4th February many dances, masks, parades and theatre performances will liven up Venice!

This year the theme of the carnival will be the theatre: “Life as a Theatre!”. So, several theatre performances and many more theatre-related initiatives will be held during this carnival edition.

On 4th February, the Great toast at the fountain of wine, and a beautiful theatre performance, “A Venezia la vita è Teatro” (“In Venice, life is theatre”). In addition, skating rinks will be open to the public in Piazza Ferretto and Campo San Paolo in Venice.

On Sunday 12th, there will be the famous and traditional “Angel Flight”, the exciting flight of a secret guest star, who from the top of San Marco bell tower will fly above the square, landing in the centre of the square. He or she will wear an amazing mask in honour of the carnival.

In addition, this year Venice Carnival will celebrate and remember the significance of the environmental protection, thanks to a special initiative by Ecolamp, the cooperative devoted to the separate collection of rubbish and waste disposal.

From 4th to 21st February will mount a stage – “Teatro della Luce e del Riciclo” – in Campo San Paolo, proposing games and shows dedicated to environment.
