Who has never walked through the streets of Naples shouldn’t stop to these preconceptions and try to discover the wonders of this thousand-year old city.

The May of Monuments Festival offers the opportunity to discover true treasures safeguarded there. The festival reaches this year its 20th edition with the theme “Neapolitan stories and legends” taken from a book by the philosopher and writer Benedetto Croce who Naples was the adoptive city.

The 1st May Concert in Rome

concertoLabour Day is one of the most celebrated annual holidays in the world. It was established to honour the workers who fought for the rights that we today consider obvious and guaranteed, at least in the major part of western countries. The tradition in Rome is the “Concerto del 1° Maggio” which happens every year since 1990 and that we suggest you to see at least once in your life. Organized by the biggest Italian trade unions (CGIL, CISL e UIL) along with Roma’s municipality, it takes place in piazza San Giovanni.

During this day, the “eternal city” doesn’t look that old. The 1st May Concert is indeed mostly intended for young people which participate in many (between 600.000 and 800.000 each year). The concert is free, that’s why everybody can join the crowd staying there from the afternoon until late at night.

Salone-del-mobileMilan’s passion for design is famous as it is the second tradition of the city after fashion. Like each year in April, Lombardy’s capital is looking forward to the tens of thousands Italians and foreigners coming to visit the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (the most important event of its kind in the world) but also all the other events spread in the different quarters of Milan during the Design Week.

The Salone del Mobile takes place in the Rho Fiera complex and is aimed for workers in the sector, except during the weekend when it’s also open to the public. If you’re going to be part of the 40.000 people visiting the 12 and 13 April, prepare to see furniture of each style (classic, modern, contemporary) coming from the whole world and aimed to each room thanks to the side exhibitions focusing on furnishing accessories, kitchen and bathroom.

13th Venice International Boat Show

nave-salone-nauticoTrade, handicraft, buildings and food… During centuries, the antic Maritime Republic of Venice was grounded on the sea and drew all its wealth from it. This profound relationship is nowadays brought to light by events like the 13th Venice International Boat Show.

For every person passionate by boats, for those wanting to purchase or simply to admire and dream, here is an unavoidable meeting occurring every year at the beginning of April and which is the only event of its kind on the whole Adriatic Sea.

Taking some distance with the preconceived idea that boats are reserved to rich people, this Show  prefers to focus on the little and medium sailing equipment. Numerous companies specialized in boating and water sports will display around 160 crafts on water or dry land, without forgetting the bigger ships (longer than 10m) which will have their dedicated space.
