The Desco festival: “tastes” and “knowledge” in Lucca is back

From November 14th to December 8th, four weeks under the sign of Lucca and Tuscan typical flavours.

A real gastronomic itinerary, with tastings, recipes and stories which will let you discover this wonderful land.

Book and Ancient Press Festival in Pisa, 2012

On November 10th – 11th the Ancient Book Festival is back in the city of the most famous leaning tower! (in Piazza Martiri della Libertà).

Since 1989, this event is a must for all collectors, who will find here  rare incunabulums, first editions, and a rich sector of cartography and “vedute”, to suit everyone’s tastes and pockets.

This year the festival can count 40 exhibitors, with a wide range of Italian antiquary libraries.

Pisa: La Luminara and The Regatta of Saint Ranieri

Every year, on 16th June, the Luminara of Saint Ranieri is renewed along the river Arno in Pisa, when the sun goes down.

According to an old tradition, the city of Pisa celebrates with this unique illumination in wax the feast of its Saint patron, St. Ranieri, on 17th June.

The illumination runs along the streets near the river Arno with about 70,000 wax candles that for each edition are set in glasses
