Turin presents the exhibition “The Collector of Wonders: The Basilewsky’s Hermitage”

Since June 7th and until October, 13th, a great exhibition will be held at Palazzo Madama in Turin in order to celebrate 150th anniversary of Turin’s Civic Museums. Its title is “The Collector of Wonders: The Basilewsky’s Hermitage”.

Such an exhibition wants to pay homage to the great collector and art addict Alexander Basilewsky, a very important personage of 19th century European collecting. This was made possible also thanks to the collaboration with the State Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg

The exhibition takes the visitor on a journey through European art from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, with 85 works of art from the collection of Alexander Basilewsky,

Turin between cinema and art

On January, 23rd, the exhibition “Gianini and Luzzati. Cartoons” was inaugurated at the National Museum of Cinema in Turin. The exhibition at the Mole Antonelliana will be on the calendar until 12th May 2013.

For the first time the original materials of animation movies will be put on display of these two extraordinary artists. More than 200 characters, sketches, sets, storyboards testifying the creative process that gave rise to some of the masterpieces of the international animation cinema will be the protagonists of this special exhibition.

“Dante ti amo” in Turin. Dante’s travel among texts and images

Until January 31st, Palazzo Madama will give you the opportunity to marvel at the prestigious Camera delle Guardie for visiting the interesting exhibition called “Dante ti amo” (“Dante I love you”).

The exhibition is dedicated to the original manuscripts, incunabula and ancient editions of his world-famous “The Divine Comedy” and, in addition, visitors will also find the first illustrated editions of  Dante’s masterpiece.
