Aircrafts Show in Padua, a few steps away from Venice

The 5th edition of Salone del Volo arrives in Padua (unlikely past editions that took place in Venice).

Thanks to the synergy among the company Expo Venice (owner of the brand of the event) the Gino Allegri Airport and Padovafiere, it will be possible to reach the fair by car or plane.

69th Venice International Film Festival

The 69th Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held in Venice Lido from August 29th to September 8th, 2012, directed by Alberto Barbera.

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and spread the international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. In addition, the Festival includes retrospectives to pay homage to the greatest figures of cinema as a contribution towards raising awareness of the history of cinema.

Venice Historical Regatta on 2nd September 2012

For all Venetians and foreign visitors, on Sunday 2nd September will take place the famous Venice Historical Regatta.

It is the main event in the yearly “Voga alla Veneta” rowing calendar. This unique sport has been practiced in the Venetian lagoon for thousands of years and today it is well-known for the spectacular historical water parade preceding the race.

Many 16th century-style boats with gondoliers in period costume carry the Doge, the Doge’s wife and all the Venetian officials along the Grand Canal

Lights on Venice: The Reedemer feast

On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July, Venice celebrates the Reedemer feast.

It is a festival particularly popular with Venetians as it combines a religious theme with a spectacular celebration thanks to the phantasmagorical fireworks that will enchant people in Venice on Saturday night from 11.30 pm until midnight.

At dusk, just as they have done for centuries, numerous small boats decked out with balloons, decortions, begin to flock into St. Mark Bay and the Giudecca Canal.

Into the boats all the participants enjoy a sumptuous typical Venetian dinner.

Historical Notes

The Reedemer feast is a tradition dating back to 1577 and its name takes origins after the Reedentor church that was designed

“Madame Fisscher”: Urs Fischer’s art on display in Venice till July, 15th

Visitors still have the chance to enjoy the exhibition by the German artist Urs Fischer, one of the many projects dedicated to a contemporary artist organized by Palazzo Grassi in Venice.

Madame Fisscher, this is the title of the exhibition, can be read according to several interpretations but don’t let visitors in indifference. If you’re around Venice in these days, visit the exhibition at least once, it’s worth it!

The exhibition is held in the hall and the 1st floor of Palazzo Grassi and there’s a series of movies chosen by the artist and a catalogue designed and published by the artist himself.
